Got my growth scan done today and the report has EFW written with some grams next to it. I have no idea what that means and my appointment is only next week. Can someone explain what this value tells about baby?
Its just the baby's estimated weight from the scan, nothing scary. It can be off by a few hundred grams either way, totally normal. Let ur doctor interpret it along with the rest.
Oh i saw EFW on my report too and got confused. So its just baby weight estimate, that makes me feel better. Did anyone else's estimate change a lot near the end?
Estimated fetal weight, comes up in every growth scan. Its useful for tracking if baby is growing well over time. Your gynac compares it across scans, so trust her reading.
EFW means estimated fetal weight, my doctor explained the machine calculates it from measurements like head and tummy. Its an estimate not exact, so dont panic if its slightly off. Ask ur gynac to read the full report for u.
