Im 9 weeks and my gynac mentioned an EDD but i didnt fully understand how its calculated. Is it from last period or something else? matlab how accurate is this date usually?
For me, my EDD was set for October 12, but my little one arrived a whole week early! It is mostly a rough estimate. Your doctor will calculate it based on your last period and scan.
Because of my thyroid, I had regular doctor follow-ups to monitor baby's growth and refine the delivery date. The EDD is just a guide, your actual date can vary. Stay in close touch with your gynac.
EDD is basically a big guess, haha! My baby decided to show up 10 days after the date, making me super impatient. Don't take that date too literally, babies have their own schedule.
My hospital gave me a tentative EDD during my first ultrasound, which is calculated from the first day of your last period. It is usually just an estimate. Check with your doctor or the hospital staff to get the most accurate date.
I just delivered last month, and my baby came exactly two days before the EDD. It's calculated by adding 280 days to your last period's first day. But honestly, very few babies actually arrive on that exact day!
The expected date of delivery is usually 40 weeks from your last period. But with my gestational diabetes, my doctor induced me a bit early anyway. It is just an estimated date, so be prepared for some flexibility.
Expected delivery date is just a guideline, especially with twins who usually arrive much earlier! Mine came at 36 weeks. Just keep your hospital bag ready a month in advance!
