My doc mentioned something about a gbs test in my next visit and i just nodded but honestly i have no idea what it is. Got a little worried after coming home. Can someone explain in simple words?
Honestly the best person to explain GBS for your case is your own gynac. It is a common screening, nothing to lose sleep over. Just make sure you do the test they recommend.
I tested positive for it and they handled it with a drip during delivery. Please dont try to read random things and worry, just ask your gynac to explain your report properly.
GBS is group B strep, a bacteria some women carry without any symptoms. My doc did a swab test near the end and said if positive they give antibiotics during labour to protect the baby. It is very routine, dont panic.
