Doc suggested some genetic test in my 11th week and honestly i dont fully understand what it checks. Im 32 and first pregnancy so thoda confused. Did anyone here do it, is it really needed?
Actually, it's just a simple blood test or scan to check if the baby has any genetic issues, yaar. Mere doctor ne toh recommend kiya tha double marker, normal report aayi toh relief mila.
My MIL was totally against it saying 'pehle ke zamane me ye sab nahi hota tha', but my doctor explained it's just a routine safety test. We convinced her and got it done, nothing to worry about.
It is basically screening tests like Dual Marker or NIPT to check chromosomal health of the baby. They are optional but good for peace of mind. Discuss with your gynac once about the timing.
Look, it's just a screening test to check baby's health markers. No need to get scared by the big name, standard checkup hota hai standard labs me. Just get it done if doc advised.
I remember getting these tests done during my first trimester, they just check for early developmental risks. It gave me a lot of reassurance while I was preparing myself for the journey ahead.
Haan na, starting me tension hoti hai what is this. It's just checking baby's DNA through mom's blood to see if everything is okay, standard procedure nowadays.
