Im 11 weeks and my doc mentioned the double marker test next week, so this has been on my mind. I keep wondering what actually makes someone high risk for it, is it only age or other things too? a bit anxious honestly, anyone here who got a high risk result and baby was fine?
This is really something only your doctor should interpret, every report is different. Age and a few other factors play a role too. If your result shows high risk, please dont rely on internet, sit with your gynac and discuss the proper tests.
I got a borderline risk on my screening and almost didnt sleep for days. My gynac sat me down and explained it was just a probability not a confirmation. The follow up test came clear, so please dont jump to conclusions like I did.
My doctor explained the double marker and NT scan together give a risk ratio, like high or low risk. A high risk result doesnt mean baby has it, it means they advise further tests like NIPT to be sure. So dont panic on the screening number, ask your doctor to explain the next step calmly.
