Since last few weeks i just cant fall asleep at night even though im exhausted, im in third trimester now. People keep telling me its pregnancy insomnia but i dont fully understand what it means. Can someone explain how it was for them?
It's basically your body practising for the sleepless newborn nights, isnt that lovely ha. Third trimester I'm up half the night, cant find a comfy position to save my life. A pregnancy pillow and a fixed sleep routine help a little.
For me a lot of it was the anxious mind racing at night, your feelings around it are valid. Talking it out and some calming breathing helped. If it's really affecting you daily, please mention it to your doctor.
It's that frustrating trouble falling or staying asleep that hits so many of us. Heartburn and frequent loo trips kept me awake. Limiting screens at night and a warm relaxing routine helped me wind down.
