My gynac mentioned she'll do an internal checkup next visit and honestly im a little nervous coz i dont fully understand what it is. Im 11 weeks, first time pregnant. Can someone who has been through it tell me what to expect?
It's basically the doctor checking your cervix internally, mostly done closer to your due date to see if things are getting ready. Done it both times, a bit awkward but over fast. Nothing to fear, just relax during it.
It's an internal exam the gynac does, usually later in pregnancy, to check the cervix and how things are progressing near delivery. My doc explained it before doing it so I wasnt nervous. It's quick, just slightly uncomfortable, nothing scary.
Dont worry beta, it's a routine check the doctor does to see how ready your body is. It's a little uncomfortable for a few seconds and then done. Just breathe and trust your gynac, she does this all day.
