My gynac mentioned she might do an internal examination at my next visit and i honestly didnt fully understand what it involves. Im a first time mom so all of this is new to me and i feel a bit nervous. Can someone explain what to expect?
My doctor explained its a per vaginal check to see the cervix and birth readiness, usually done near the end. She said its quick and mild discomfort only. It helps them assess how things are progressing.
Nothing to fear dear, its a routine check the gynac does to feel how ready your body is. Just breathe and it passes quickly. Ask her to explain as she goes if it helps you stay calm.
I had a couple of these towards the end before my section was decided. It feels a bit odd but its over fast. The doctor is gentle, try to relax your body during it.
