Im carrying twins, 24 weeks now. At my last scan doctor mentioned iugr and that we'll keep monitoring, but honestly I didnt fully understand what it means for twins. anyone here went through this? please share.
It means a baby is growing a bit slower than it should in the womb, and with twins doctors keep a closer watch. Try not to panic, many babies with this are monitored and do fine. Just keep all your appointments and trust your doctor okay.
IUGR is when the baby measures smaller than expected for the weeks. In twin pregnancies its watched extra carefully. My app had good articles on it but honestly the growth scans your doctor does are what actually matter here. Follow their advice closely.
Twin mom here. IUGR basically means one or both babies arent growing as much as expected for their age. With twins they watch this closely cos sometimes one twin hogs more, lol the sibling rivalry starts early. My doctor did extra scans to keep an eye.
I had growth concerns in my pregnancy so i know this term. It needs close monitoring by a good gynac, sometimes extra scans or early delivery if needed. Please dont try to manage this on your own, stay in regular touch with your specialist.
My doctor described IUGR as intrauterine growth restriction, where the baby grows slower than normal in the womb. In twins its more common because they share space and sometimes the placenta. They monitor it with regular growth scans and dopplers.
