My anomaly scan mentioned low lying placenta and i panicked a little reading it. Doctor said we will recheck later but didnt explain much. Can someone tell me what it actually means and if it moves up on its own?
My doctor explained it as the placenta sitting low in the uterus, near or covering the cervix. She said in many cases it moves up on its own as the uterus grows later, so they just monitor with scans. Mine actually shifted up by the third trimester.
Dont scare urself with that term beta. It just means placenta is positioned low for now, and usually it rises as months pass. Just take rest, avoid jerks, and trust ur gynac to track it.
I had this and it was flagged early. Main thing they told me was avoid heavy lifting and report any bleeding fast. Please follow ur doctors scan schedule strictly, they keep an eye on whether it moves or not.
My report also mentioned low lying placenta and I got so worried reading it. Doctor said its common in early scans and often corrects itself. Did it move up for anyone here? Trying not to panic.
When I had this my gynac told me to slow down a bit, no rushing on stairs or carrying heavy bags. I just adjusted my routine and kept my scan appointments. By 32 weeks mine had moved up, so dont lose hope.
