Doc has written some marker test for me in this trimester and the name itself sounds scary. I dont fully get what they check in it. can someone explain in simple words, is it a routine thing?
Marker tests are blood tests like the double and triple marker that check the risk of certain conditions in baby. My doctor explained they are screening, not confirmation, just to see if anything needs a closer look. She did mine around the right weeks with a scan.
Honestly the names sounded scary to me first but it is a routine screening many do. Best to let your gynac explain your specific report rather than reading random things online. The timing of these is important too.
I overthought my marker test so badly, didnt sleep for two nights waiting for result. In the end it was all normal. Try not to panic before the report like I did, easier said than done I know.
