Im around 5 weeks and getting these light cramps on and off, feels thoda like period pain. Got nervous so just wanted to understand if its the normal kind. Anyone else felt this in early days?
My gynac explained that the uterus expands rapidly in the first trimester, causing period-like mild cramps. It is completely normal unless the pain is severe or on one side. If it's heavy pain, always get a scan.
I had mild cramps and got worried about extra scan costs, but my doctor said it's just implantation and stretching. Rest as much as you can. Save your hospital visits for the scheduled ones unless the pain gets bad.
Mild cramping is very common as the uterus is stretching to accommodate the baby. Just make sure it isn't accompanied by bleeding or severe sharp pain. If that happens, call your doctor immediately.
I totally understand how scary every little pain can feel in the beginning. It is just your little miracle making space inside you. Just rest and pamper yourself, everything will be fine.
Stretching of muscles causes mild cramps, so make sure you stay well hydrated. Drink plenty of water and eat small, regular meals to avoid gas, which can sometimes make cramps feel worse.
