Had my anomaly scan today and the report mentions AC measurement but i couldnt understand the numbers. Everything else looked fine the doc said. Just curious what is considered normal at 20 weeks?
There isnt one fixed number, it goes with a percentile for ur exact weeks. The sonologist writes whether AC corresponds to the gestational age. Let ur doctor interpret it, the report alone can confuse u.
AC is the baby's abdominal circumference on the scan. At 20 weeks it falls in a range that the radiologist matches to ur weeks. My doctor told me not to read the single number alone, they see if all measurements match the dates together.
Honestly dont try to decode the AC value yourself, the report already says if its appropriate for the gestational age or not. If it matched ur weeks, ur fine. Show it to ur gynac and she will confirm.
I also got scared looking at all these numbers in my 20 week scan! The doc just said everything is growing as per dates and not to worry about individual values. Did u get the overall comment as normal?
