What is normal range for glucose tolerance test in pregnancy?
I have my GTT scheduled next week and im a little nervous about it na. Want to understand beforehand what numbers are considered normal so I dont panic seeing the report. Anyone remember their values?
Most of the pregnancy apps mention this! From what I remember seeing on Ovia and BabyCenter, for the 1-hour GTT, they usually look for levels under 140 mg/dL. If it's higher, then they do the longer 3-hour test. But pls, your lab report will have the specific reference range, and your doctor will be the best one to interpret it for you. Don't worry!
My doctor explained this very clearly to me. For the 1-hour glucose screening test, a normal result is usually considered below 140 mg/dL (or 7.8 mmol/L). If it's above that, you'll likely need to do the 3-hour glucose tolerance test. For the 3-hour test, they check fasting, 1-hour, 2-hour, and 3-hour levels, and usually, if two or more values are elevated, it indicates gestational diabetes. But always discuss with your gynac, they know your history best.
Sweetie, I remember the anxiety around those tests so well! It's completely normal to feel worried. While there are standard ranges, honestly, your doctor will interpret your specific results based on your individual health profile. Try not to stress too much about the exact numbers right now; focus on listening to your doctor's advice. You're doing great, mama.
Oh, the glucose test, what a 'sweet' experience, right? (Pun intended!) Honestly, I just remember feeling super full from that drink, haha. They have specific cut-off numbers for the 1-hour and then the 3-hour test if needed. Your lab will mention it on the report, but your doctor will decode all that medical jargon for you. Just trust your gynac, they'll tell you if everything's normal!
Yaar, don't stress too much about the numbers right now! I know it's easy to get anxious. Generally, they want your sugar to be below a certain level in those tests. Your gynac will tell you exactly what your results mean. Just follow their advice and focus on staying calm. Sending you positive vibes!
Hey, take a deep breath, it's common to worry about these tests. Usually, for the 1-hour glucose screening, the cutoff is around 130-140 mg/dL. If you fail that, they do the 3-hour test. But look, your doctor will explain everything clearly. Don't try to self-diagnose by checking numbers online, ok? Just wait for your gynac to give you the results and advise.
