Saw these words written on my report and the doc said something quickly which i didnt fully get. Can someone explain in simple words what para and gravida actually mean?
I saw these terms written on my ultrasound file today and honestly, it made me so confused and slightly anxious. Is Gravida the number of pregnancies and Para the deliveries? I kept wondering if I read it correctly!
These are just hospital terms, dear, so don't stress over them. Gravida is your total pregnancies (including current one) and Para is successful deliveries. You don't need to do anything about it, just let the doctors handle the paperwork!
Don't let these complicated medical words worry your mind, beta. Just stay positive, focus on your prayers, and take care of your health. It simply shows your pregnancy history on the doctor’s file.
I actually looked this up on my pregnancy tracker app! Gravida basically means how many times you have been pregnant in total, and Para is the number of times you have given birth. It’s just standard medical terminology they use on files.
