Saw POA written on my scan report next to some number and i have no idea what it means. Felt shy to ask the doc in front of everyone na. Can someone explain in simple words?
POA usually means period of amenorrhea, basically how far along you are counted from your last period. My doctor wrote it on my scan reports along with the weeks. It is just a way to note the gestational age.
I saw POA on all my reports and was confused too, then my app explained it is the gestational age from your last period. Once I matched it with my tracker it made total sense. Ask your doctor to confirm your exact count.
It is the term they use for how many weeks pregnant you are, counted from your last period date. You will see it on ultrasound and hospital papers a lot. Nothing to worry about, just medical shorthand.
