My delivery was 2 months back and i just dont feel like myself, keep crying for no reason and feel so low. People keep saying its normal mood swings but it feels more than that. Is this what they call post pregnancy depression? how did u cope.
First, whatever you're feeling is valid. Postpartum depression is more than the normal baby blues, its when the sadness, anxiety or numbness stays and affects daily life. It needs care, not judgement. Please reach out to your doctor and your people, you deserve support.
Its real and please know its not your fault. After delivery the hormones crash and along with no sleep, you can feel low, weepy, disconnected, sometimes for weeks. I went through it. Talking about it and getting help made all the difference, you dont have to suffer quietly.
Its a serious but treatable thing many moms face after delivery, persistent sadness, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed or detached. It is medical, not weakness. If you or someone you know has it, especially any scary thoughts, please contact a doctor right away. Help works.
Its depression that happens after delivery, low mood, crying, irritability, trouble bonding with baby, lasting beyond the first couple weeks. The baby blues are short and normal, this is longer and heavier. If someone has it, get professional help, it treats well with support.
Beta, after a baby comes the body and mind both go through so much. Post pregnancy depression is when a mother feels constantly low, tired and sad in a way that doesnt lift on its own. It is no one's fault. Reach out, talk to family and a doctor, you are not alone in this.
