What is posterior placenta grade 2 maturity in pregnancy?
Got my anomaly scan report and it says posterior placenta grade 2 maturity. I have no idea what this means and my appointment is only next week so im a bit anxious reading it. Is grade 2 normal at this stage? pls explain in simple words.
These are routine scan descriptions and usually nothing alarming on their own. But the only person who should interpret your report in full context is your gynac. Ask them directly at your next visit for peace of mind.
I literally googled every single word on my scan report and scared myself silly. My doctor calmly said posterior is just position and the grade is expected for my weeks. Please ask your gynac to explain your report, it stops the overthinking, trust me.
When my report said this I asked my gynac too. She explained posterior just means the placenta is at the back of the uterus, which is common and fine, and grade refers to how mature it looks on scan as pregnancy progresses. Grade 2 is normal in the later weeks. Your doctor reads it along with everything else, so don't panic over the words.
