Saw this term written on my scan report and had no idea what it means. Doc was in a hurry so couldnt ask properly. Can someone explain in simple words?
Yeh hamari body me uterus ke peeche ek choti si khali jagah hoti hai. Meri saas kehti hain ki scan report me likhi har muscular term se darna nahi chahiye. Agar scan me fluid normal hai toh sab thik hai, tension mat lo.
I felt so terrified when I saw 'fluid in pouch of Douglas' in my early ultrasound report. I literally cried thinking my baby was in danger. But my doctor explained it's completely common and my baby was perfectly safe.
Bacha, bilkul mat ghabrao yeh ajeeb sa naam dekh kar. Yeh hamari body ka ek natural space hai uterus ke peeche jo har female me hota hai. Report me normal likha hai toh chill karo, didi bol rahi hai na sab thik hai.
Mujhe yaad hai jab scan me yeh term aayi thi toh mummy ne kaha tha faltu chinta mat kar. Unhone mujhe suthra dhoodh aur badam diye aur shant rehne ko kaha. Doctor ne bhi check kiya aur bataya ki yeh bilkul normal anatomy hai.
Arey, I completely panicked and spent hours searching about this on Google during my first trimester! Turns out, it's just a standard medical term for the space behind the uterus. In most cases, it is completely normal, so please don't lose sleep over it.
Simply put, the pouch of Douglas is just a normal anatomical pocket behind your womb. Sometimes scans show a little fluid there, which can happen during ovulation or early pregnancy. It's completely harmless unless your doctor finds something abnormal.
