Sorry if this sounds basic but im going to the lab tomorrow and dont know what to even ask for. The doc told me to get a blood test done. what is the actual name of the test? dont want to sound silly there.
I just asked for the urine kit at the medical store and they gave Prega News. Later doctor did a beta hCG blood test to confirm. So there are two types basically.
The home urine one is just called a home pregnancy test or HPT, brands like Prega News are common here. The blood test at a lab is called a beta hCG test and it is more accurate and earlier. Both check the same pregnancy hormone.
At home it is the urine pregnancy test, kits you get at any chemist. At the lab they do the beta hCG blood test which can catch it a bit earlier. Both look for the hCG hormone basically.
