My doc told me to get a scan done next week but honestly i got confused with all the names they use. Is it the same as ultrasound or is it something different? first pregnancy so everything is new for me.
It's called an ultrasound, same thing as sonography yaar. Throughout pregnancy u get a few of them, the dating scan, anomaly scan around 20 weeks and growth scan later. My app reminded me for each one.
Actually people use sonography, USG, ultrasound all for the same scan yaar. The detailed one around mid pregnancy is the anomaly scan, that one is the important wala. Don't get confused with the names.
Sonography aur ultrasound dono ek hi cheez hai. Early one is sometimes transvaginal, later ones are on the belly. Both my pregnancies had around 4 to 5 scans total.
In our hospital they just said scanning beta. It is the same as sonography, where they put gel on tummy and see baby. Such a sweet moment when u first see the baby moving.
