Been getting these mild pulling type cramps on and off, kind of like period pain but im pregnant so it's confusing me. First time mom here, dont know what's normal and what's not. Is this just the uterus stretching or something to worry about?
Beta a bit of pulling and cramping as the belly grows is part of the journey, dont alarm yourself over every twinge. Warm rest, hydration and movement help with the gassy ones. Just keep your doctor's number handy for anything that feels strong or comes with bleeding.
Be a little careful with this one. Light cramps can be normal stretching, but i learned the hard way not to ignore strong or persistent pain. If cramps come with bleeding, fever or feel intense, please get checked right away rather than waiting it out.
My doctor explained early pregnancy cramps are often from the uterus expanding and ligaments stretching, and a lot is also just digestion since pregnancy slows the gut. She told me the warning signs to watch, severe pain, cramps with bleeding, fever or dizziness. Those need immediate attention. Mild twinges, generally normal.
I used to panic at every little cramp, honestly. Most of mine turned out to be gas and stretching. What helped was knowing the difference, gentle dull cramps usually fine, but anything sharp or with spotting i would call my gynac. Better to ask than sit worrying like i did.
Mild cramps in pregnancy are often just your uterus stretching and growing, or gas and constipation which is super common. I felt these on and off in both pregnancies. Mild and occasional is usually normal. But strong, sharp or constant cramps with bleeding, that you should call the doctor about.
