Doc has told me complete bed rest from this week and im a bit confused what it really means. Like can i get up for washroom, bath, ghar pe thoda chalna or literally lie down all day? Anyone who was on strict rest pls guide me.
Strict bed rest is serious business, no cooking, no light chores, and definitely no stepping out. You are literally confined to your bed except for quick bathroom trips, so hire help or delegate everything to your husband.
I know how scary it feels when the doctor mentions strict bed rest, it instantly triggers so much panic. It basically means you have to stay in bed all the time, only getting up for using the washroom. Hang in there, dear, it's tough but temporary.
Since I had to manage my sugar with diet, being on strict bed rest made it hard because I couldn't walk. If you are on strict bed rest (which means only getting up for the washroom), make sure to consult a doctor about a proper diet so your sugars don't spike due to lack of movement.
I felt so helpless when my gynac told me to do strict bed rest after some early bleeding. I literally spent weeks just looking at the ceiling, only moving for the washroom, but when I held my baby, I felt every single day of rest was totally worth it.
I was put on strict bed rest in my third trimester because of low fluid. Honestly, it means staying flat in bed, eating your meals there, and only standing up to go to the toilet. It's boring, but it saved my baby!
I totally understand how difficult and exhausting it is to lie in bed all day long, it can be so lonely. It just means staying in bed to protect your little angel, only getting up for essential washroom trips. Sending you so much strength and love!
From my research, strict bed rest is advised to reduce pressure on the cervix, especially in cases of short cervix or bleeding. My doctor explained that you should keep your pelvis elevated and avoid sitting up for long periods, so limit movement strictly to restroom visits.
