My scan report mentioned baby is on the 10th centile and i didnt fully understand what it means. Doc explained quickly but i was too tensed to take it in. Is this something to worry about?
My doctor explained centiles compare your baby's growth to others, so 10th centile means baby is on the smaller side but can still be perfectly healthy. They just monitor growth a bit more closely with scans. She told me not to panic over one number.
My baby measured around the 10th centile and the doctor kept a close watch with extra scans, all turned out fine. It just means they track growth carefully. Please go by what your gynac says, dont read scary things online.
Basically it's a way of measuring baby's size against a chart, lower centile means smaller but often totally healthy. Dont let the number scare you. Your doctor will tell you if anything actually needs attention.
