What is the best lotion for stretch marks during pregnancy?
Belly is growing fast now in 6th month and stretch marks are slowly coming on the sides. Want to start applying something safe before it gets worse. Which lotion or oil actually worked for u all?
For me, keeping my baby safe was the only priority, so I asked my doctor for a completely chemical-free option. She recommended simple virgin coconut oil which is completely safe. Please avoid any strong medicated creams without checking with your gynac first.
Those marks are just beautiful reminders of the miracle your body is growing, so please don't feel bad about them. I used simple bio-oil and sweet almond oil, but honestly, some lines still remained and that is completely okay. You are beautiful just the way you are.
I spent hours reading ingredients of 10 different lotions because I was so worried about chemicals absorbing into my skin! In the end, I just got too scared and used pure shea butter and coconut oil. It kept the itching away, but please consult your doc if you are confused like me!
I panicked when I saw my first stretch mark and bought three expensive creams! Later my doctor told me it's mostly genetic and simple coconut oil or Nivea cream is enough to keep skin hydrated. Don't waste too much money on fancy brands, normal moisturizer works fine.
I am planning to conceive soon and even I was researching this last night! A lot of my friends swear by virgin coconut oil or bio-oil starting from the second trimester. Let me know which one you choose and if it works!
I just delivered last month and my belly was super itchy during the third trimester. I used Palmer's cocoa butter daily and it worked really well for me. Just apply it right after your shower while the skin is still damp.
