Newly married and we want to start trying now. I keep reading about fertile window but i get so confused counting the days after my period ends. Can someone explain in simple words?
Roughly the middle of your cycle is the fertile window, around day 12 to 16 if you have a regular 28 day cycle. That's when ovulation happens. Track a few cycles to know your own pattern, everyone's different.
I read the same, around mid cycle is best. I'm pregnant now and we focused on the week after my period ended. It took us a couple of months so dont lose hope if it's not the first try.
We're trying too and the doctor told us the days around ovulation, roughly 10 to 16 days after period starts, are the best. She said dont stress and time it too rigidly, just be regular during that window.
I used an ovulation tracker app and it showed my fertile days around day 13-15. You can also use ovulation strips, they helped me pinpoint better than guessing. Both my kids were planned this way.
Just adding, if your periods are irregular like mine were with PCOS, the standard day 14 rule doesnt apply neatly. My doctor helped me track ovulation properly. So if your cycle isnt regular, better to get guidance than just counting days.
