My doctor did a scan and mentioned my egg/follicle size in mm and i just nodded without really understanding. Now im sitting and wondering what size is actually needed. Can someone explain in simple words?
With pcos my follicle growth was uneven so scans helped a lot. The doctor watches the size and tells you the right time. I wouldnt fix on one number, every cycle is a bit different.
In my ivf journey they monitored follicle sizes very closely and a good mature size was around 18 to 20 mm. But please dont stress over the numbers yourself, the doctors guide it carefully. Trust the process.
My doc told me a mature follicle around 18 to 22 mm is ideal for ovulation and conceiving. They check this in a follicular study scan. The exact number can vary so let your doctor interpret your scan.
