We are doing follicular study this cycle and im going for scans every few days. Doc keeps measuring the size but i didnt understand at what size its considered mature enough. Trying to conceive since almost a year so im just trying to learn everything. Anyone been through this?
I dont want to throw exact numbers coz with my PCOS follicle growth was always irregular. My gynac tracked it with follicular study scans and told me when it was the right size. Thats really the safest way to know.
My doctor said a follicle is considered mature roughly between 18 and 24 mm and around that point ovulation happens. She did follicular monitoring scans every couple days to time things. Ask for that if ur trying, it really helps.
I was reading about this too while planning! Seems like 18-20mm is the commonly mentioned mature size, but I figured the scan and doctor timing matters way more than the number itself.
From what my fertility doc explained, a mature follicle is usually around 18 to 22 mm before it releases the egg. But every body is different, so please go by what your own doctor sees on your scans. Sending you good wishes.
