I noticed a dark line running down the middle of my belly and it's getting more visible as the bump grows. im 6 months now. what is this exactly and does it stay forever? curious because i never had it before.
It is called linea nigra. My gynac said it happens due to hormonal changes and extra pigment, the line just becomes darker than before. She told me it usually fades on its own few months after delivery, nothing to treat.
Looking back now my line is almost gone, baby is a toddler running around. It really does fade with time so please don't worry about it. These changes are just part of the journey.

Yes I had that line too, ran from belly button downwards. It got darker in last trimester and slowly faded after baby came. Felt like a little pregnancy souvenir honestly.
