What is the meaning of braxton hicks in pregnancy?
Kept seeing this word braxton hicks in a pregnancy app and have no clue what it means. Im 30 weeks and sometimes my pet feels tight for a few seconds. Is that what this is? Pls explain simply.
Arre, don't worry, it is just your body getting ready for the big day. Think of it as a warm-up session for your uterus! Just rest, put your feet up, and if they ever feel too strong or don't stop, let your gynac know.
Braxton Hicks are sporadic, non-painful contractions where your uterine muscles tighten. They help prepare your body for labor but don't actually open the cervix. While they are very normal, always consult your doctor if they become painful or regular.
My tracker app flagged these around week 24! They're called practice contractions and usually happen if you are dehydrated or very active. Changing your position or drinking a large bottle of water usually makes them fade away.
They are basically false contractions, like a practice run for your uterus. Your stomach will get tight for a few seconds and then go back to normal. Don't panic, just drink a glass of water and lie down, they will stop.
I keep reading about this and I'm so scared! My bump gets tight sometimes and I wonder if that's Braxton Hicks already in my second trimester. Has anyone else felt this tightness so early, or is it just gas?
