I keep hearing this word in delivery videos but I dont understand how it actually feels. I am only 26 weeks, so I want to know the difference between normal tightening and contractions. Can moms explain in simple words?
Oh God, I remember being so confused about this! Every little ache and pain, I used to google 'contraction' and get even more stressed. It's so hard to know what's normal and what's not, especially for a first-timer. Just make sure to keep your gynac informed if you feel anything too intense or regular, okay?
Yaar, contractions... for me, it feels like my whole belly just turns into a rock for a few seconds, then softens again. Sometimes I wonder if my baby is just playing football in there! Honestly, it's just a lot of tightening and pressure, and by 3rd trimester, you kinda get used to it. But haan, it's tiring for sure!
Hi dear, contractions are basically when your uterus tightens up and then relaxes. They can feel like period cramps or a tightening in your belly. Early on, you might get 'Braxton Hicks' which are practice contractions, not real labor. The main difference is real labor contractions are regular, get stronger, and don't go away.
Honestly, I totally panicked when I first started feeling these tightening sensations. I thought I was going into early labor! But my doc explained it's just my uterus getting ready, like a warm-up. If they are irregular and not very painful, it's usually Braxton Hicks. Real ones are on a different level, you'll know. Don't worry too much!
For me, the first time I felt a strong contraction, I actually thought it was a really intense hunger pang! Like, my stomach was twisting itself into a pretzel wanting a specific street food. Then my husband told me it was probably a Braxton Hicks. LOL. It's a weird feeling for sure, very intense tightening in the belly.
