Got my first scan report and it mentions CRL with some measurement. Doc just said baby is fine and moved on, i forgot to ask what it means. Can someone tell me what CRL stands for and why they measure it?
CRL is crown to rump length of the baby, mainly used in first trimester to date the pregnancy. If u have doubts about your numbers vs your dates, just ask your gynac, they read it correctly in context.
Its just a measurement, Crown Rump Length, they measure it in the early scan to confirm your weeks and due date. Nothing to worry about, its a normal thing they note. Your doctor matches it with your dates.
I saw CRL on my first scan report and panicked thinking it was some problem, but its just baby's size measurement, head to bum. Felt silly after. Did anyone else also get confused by all these short forms on the report?
CRL means Crown Rump Length, basically baby's length from head to bottom in early scans. My doctor said its used to estimate how many weeks pregnant u are and your due date in the first trimester. Pretty accurate for dating.
