What is the normal range of thyroid during pregnancy?
My thyroid report came and the values look slightly off to me. Doc appointment is next week but till then im a bit anxious. What is the normal range supposed to be?
Actually, the normal TSH range depends on your trimester. Usually, it's 0.1 to 2.5 mIU/L in the first trimester, and 0.2 to 3.0 mIU/L in the second and third. Don't worry if it's slightly off; your doctor will adjust your thyroid dose accordingly to keep the baby safe.
Actually yaar, during pregnancy, the thyroid range is much stricter than normal. In the first trimester, it should be below 2.5, and later up to 3.0 max. If yours is high, don't worry, the doctor will just give you a tiny pill to take empty stomach, totally normal.
Usually, TSH should be under 2.5 mIU/L in the first trimester and under 3.0 mIU/L later. Keeping active with light walks and yoga after my doctor's green light really helped my metabolism and overall health, but for thyroid, regular blood tests and the right prescription are key.
For most pregnant women, doctors like to see TSH levels between 0.1 and 2.5 mIU/L in the first trimester, and under 3.0 in the later months. I had my thyroid checked regularly and had a smooth normal delivery, so just follow what your doctor says, it is very manageable!
I had to manage my thyroid test every 4 weeks along with my busy work schedule. The general range is under 2.5 mIU/L in the early months. Just get your blood drawn early morning on an empty stomach to get the most accurate result, and share it with your gynac on email to save time.
