Got my thyroid report today and the TSH number is bugging me, dont know if its in the safe zone for pregnancy. Im 10 weeks. Planning to show my gynac but wanted to understand it a bit first.
My doctor said pregnancy has its own tighter TSH targets and they monitor it each trimester, often aiming lower than the standard range. The exact number depends on your lab and trimester. She tested me regularly and tweaked my dose accordingly, so it's really an individual thing.
There are recommended pregnancy ranges but they vary by trimester and lab, so a single number online can mislead you. Get your report read by your doctor. They'll also tell you how often to retest, which matters as much as the value.
Thyroid in pregnancy is something to take seriously, please don't self assess from internet numbers. Mine needed close monitoring. Share your report with your doctor and follow the dose and retests they set, untreated thyroid can affect the baby.
TSH targets are stricter in pregnancy than normal, and they change by trimester, so don't go by a regular report range. I had thyroid through my pregnancy and my doctor kept adjusting based on my reports. Please get yours interpreted by your gynac or endocrinologist, not a general chart.
