What is the recommended amount of folic acid during pregnancy?
My gynac started me on folic acid but i forgot to ask exactly how much i should be taking daily. Planning to confirm with her next visit but wanted to know what you all were told.
My gynac prescribed folic acid from before conception and through early pregnancy, she said it helps prevent neural tube defects in the baby. The exact dose she set based on my case. Please take the amount ur doctor prescribes, dont guess the dose yourself.
My app kept reminding me to take my folic acid daily and not miss it, which was helpful. The doctor decided my dose though. Starting it early, even before conceiving, is what most doctors advise.
