We are under treatment and the doctor keeps talking about follicle size before telling us the right time to try. I dont really understand what size is considered good enough. Can someone explain in simple words?
My doctor explained that the follicle that holds the egg needs to grow to roughly 18 to 20 mm before it releases for the best chance. They check this in a follicular study scan. The egg itself is tiny, its the follicle size they actually measure.
With PCOS my follicles often didnt grow to the right size on their own, so my doctor tracked them with scans. Everyone's body responds differently though. Better to get a follicular study than to guess.
