In my scan report they mentioned placenta position and all and i just nodded but didnt really understand what it does. Im 20 weeks. Want to know in simple terms why its so important for the baby.
My doctor explained the placenta is like the baby's lifeline, it passes oxygen and nutrients from you to the baby and removes waste. It also makes pregnancy hormones. Pretty amazing organ honestly.
When the doctor showed it on the scan and explained its job, I felt so emotional. It's literally feeding and protecting the baby this whole time. Our bodies are incredible.
