My gynac wrote this test on my list for next visit and i didnt get to ask her much in the rush. What does it actually check for? trying to understand before i go so i dont panic seeing the report.
I just did mine and was so nervous waiting for results. Did anyone else feel anxious about this test? My gynac kept telling me its only a screening to relax.
My doctor explained the triple marker is a blood test that checks a few markers to estimate the risk of certain conditions in the baby. Its a screening, not a confirmation, so a flagged result just means more tests, not bad news. She said its routine and nothing to fear.
Its one of the standard second trimester blood tests. Did it both pregnancies, totally normal part of the checkups. Your doctor will tell you if anything needs a closer look, dont panic in advance.
When I did it at my hospital they explained everything clearly before the draw. I would say just ask your doctor or the lab staff to walk you through your specific report. They are there to answer all your doubts.
