My last scan report mentioned vertex and I didnt ask my gynac properly at that time. Now im sitting at home wondering what exactly it means for the baby. Can someone explain in simple words?
It simply means baby is positioned head first, which is what doctors want for delivery. Many babies turn into this position on their own by the end. Your gynac will track it as you get closer.
Vertex means the baby is head down, which is the ideal position for a normal delivery. My doctor explained it's what they hope to see closer to the due date. She kept checking the position in later scans.
When my report said vertex I was relieved, it's the head down position that's good for a normal birth. My baby settled into it by the later weeks. It made my delivery smoother for me.
