Around 6 weeks and the nausea is starting. Just want to understand what type of vomiting is normal in pregnancy, like how often and when. Is morning only ya whole day? curious.
This is one thing I'm a bit nervous about! I hear so many stories about morning sickness. Is it usually just a little bit of food, or can it be really intense? And is it only in the mornings, or can it happen all day? Just trying to mentally prepare myself!
Ugh, vomiting during pregnancy is such a bummer, especially when you're a foodie! Sometimes it was just because I couldn't stand the smell of certain foods, even ones I loved before. Other times it felt like my body just rejected everything. You know, pregnancy makes you develop some seriously weird food aversions, it's wild!
Vomiting in pregnancy can range from mild 'morning sickness' which actually happens any time of day, to more severe cases like hyperemesis gravidarum. It can be just nausea, or actual vomiting, sometimes even just bile if your stomach is empty. If it's very frequent, severe, or you can't keep anything down, always consult your gynac right away.
It can be anything from just mild nausea and a little dry heaving, to actually throwing up food or even just stomach bile. For me, it was mostly in the mornings, and sometimes when my stomach was totally empty. Try to eat small, frequent meals and keep some crackers by your bedside. It does pass, eventually.
Oh my god, I used to panic so much about this! Sometimes it's just a little bit, like after brushing your teeth. Other times it's proper vomiting, even just plain water. It can be thick, thin, sour, anything! I thought something was wrong but my doctor said it's all part of the hormonal changes. Just normal, don't worry.
