What level of hcg is detected in home pregnancy test?
I tested at home and got a very faint second line so now im confused if its real or not. Trying to understand at what hcg level these home kits actually start showing positive. Anyone who knows the rough number?
The exact level varies by brand, usually the packet mentions its sensitivity. Honestly for a confirmed answer a blood beta hCG test from a lab is far more precise. If your home test is confusing, get the blood test done and consult your gynac.
Most home kits detect hCG from around 25 mIU/ml onwards, some sensitive ones a bit lower. My doctor said that is why testing too early can miss it, because the level is still low then. Testing with morning urine after a missed period gives the best chance of detection.
So that explains why my early test was so faint and then darker a few days later, the hcg was rising na? I was so confused at first. Good to know the level keeps building up.
