Random thought that came in my head while feeling like my own pregnancy is going on forever lol. Just curious which animal has the shortest one. Anyone know?
The opossum (Virginia opossum) holds it with roughly a 12 day gestation. Their babies are born super tiny and then develop further in the pouch. Quite different from us mammals who carry full term inside.
Ooh i actually read this somewhere, i think its the opossum at around 12-13 days. Sitting here in my third trimester feeling jealous honestly, 9 months is loooong.
