What medications can cause a false negative pregnancy test?
I tested negative but i have all the symptoms and my period still nahi aaya. Im on some regular meds so now im wondering if that messed up the result. Has this happened to anyone?
Technically, most common medications don't interfere with urine test kits. However, some diuretics can dilute your urine, making the hCG hard to detect. It's best to test first thing in the morning when the urine is concentrated.
I am in my second trimester now, but early on, I got two negative tests even though I felt pregnant! Has anyone else experienced a false negative because of allergy meds? It was so confusing.
Oh, the anxiety of seeing a negative test when you feel pregnant is heartbreaking. Please don't lose heart, sometimes it's just a late ovulation. Sending you so much love and hoping you get your positive soon!
When I was trying, I was very careful with my gestational diabetes meds and general prescriptions. My doctor told me standard pills don't cause false negatives, but we must track everything we consume. Always show your full medicine list to your gynac.
Actually normal meds like painkillers or antibiotics don't cause false negatives, haan. Usually, it's just testing too early or drinking too much water before the test. Wait for a few days and try again, na.
I know how stressful waiting for a result is. Some fertility drugs can affect tests, but usually, false negatives happen if the hormone levels are too low. Please consult your doctor for a blood test to be absolutely sure and safe.
