Every elder has a different list of things to avoid and I am getting more confused than careful. I am in first trimester and scared to make a mistake. What foods did your doctor clearly tell you to avoid?
My doctor listed raw seafood, undercooked meat and eggs, unpasteurised dairy, and high mercury fish as the main ones to avoid. She also said limit caffeine. Everything else just keep it clean and well cooked.
Elders at home told me to avoid raw papaya and too much pineapple in the beginning. Doctor added raw and undercooked things to that. Mostly I just stuck to fresh home cooked meals and felt fine.
Apart from the usual no list, in early days I avoided very oily and strong smelling food because it triggered my nausea badly. Listen to your stomach too, not just the rules.
Beta humare yahan papaya aur pineapple early mein avoid karte hain. Bahar ka cut fruit aur basi khana bhi mat khao. Baaki ghar ka taza khana khilao apne aap ko, woh hi sabse achha hai.
Skip raw or half cooked eggs and meat, unpasteurised cheese, raw papaya and pineapple in big amounts, and too much caffeine. Also avoid leftover street food that can upset your stomach. Rest is mostly fine.
Avoid roadside cut fruits and reheated street food, not worth a tummy infection and a doctor bill in early pregnancy. Cook simple at home, its cheaper and safer. Skip raw eggs and unpasteurised stuff too.
