Second trimester here and trying to snack healthy instead of munching on namkeen all day. Confused which nuts are actually best for baby. pls share what you all keep at home.
My dietician suggested almonds, walnuts and a few cashews daily. Walnuts especially for the omega-3 which is good for baby's brain. She told me to soak almonds overnight for easier digestion and keep total to a small handful a day.
You dont need expensive fancy nuts. Plain almonds and peanuts (moongphali) are cheap and just as nutritious. I bought a small mix and it lasted the week, way better than buying packaged snacks.
Almonds, walnuts, pista, cashew all good. I mixed them and had a fistful daily for snacks instead of biscuits. Just dont go crazy on quantity, they are heavy and calorie dense.
My amma made me eat soaked almonds and a couple of walnuts every morning, she said it is good for the baby. Felt nice and kept hunger away. Just keep the amount small, doctor also said same.
