What role does the placenta play during pregnancy?
Doc keeps mentioning placenta in my scans and i just nod but dont fully understand what it actually does. First time pregnant so all this is new for me. Can someone explain in simple words?
it is a beautiful temporary organ that filters all nutrients and oxygen to your baby. mine was anterior but still had a smooth normal delivery, so keep positive thoughts!
it is the main source of food and oxygen for the baby, which is why doctors check its position in every expensive scan. make sure you save up for the anomaly scan because checking placenta health is very important.
im currently trying to conceive and keep reading about anterior and posterior placenta. does the position of the placenta change how we feel the baby kicks?
i totally understand how magical this journey is, the placenta is actually the physical bond carrying your love and nutrients to the little one. it is truly nature's biggest miracle.
it is so beautiful how the body creates an entire organ just to protect and feed the baby. im currently planning my pregnancy and hope to experience this miracle soon.
i know reading about placenta positions can be very stressful, i spent nights crying over my reports. but basically it just acts as a life support system for the baby, filtering out bad things.
