Just got my positive test couple days back, im around 5 weeks. So many do's and donts floating around that im confused what to actually stay away from. Want to be extra careful these first weeks na. share your experience pls.
Honestly in early pregnancy i avoided strong smells more than anything because the nausea was brutal. Apart from the usual no raw food and no alcohol, just eat what stays down. Dont stress too much over perfect diet in first trimester.
Avoid raw or half cooked stuff, papaya, too much caffeine and obviously no alcohol or smoking. Also no self medication, even basic tablets ask your doc first. Rest of the normal food is fine, dont starve yourself.
I cut down on outside oily food and stuck to fresh home cooked meals which helped. Avoid papaya, raw sprouts, too much tea. And if you ever get bleeding or strong cramps dont wait, call your gynac immediately.
Simple things actually, no need for fancy diets. Avoid raw and street food so you dont catch an infection, skip papaya, and dont miss your folic acid which the doctor will prescribe. Eating home food saves money and is safer too.
I kept a little note in my pregnancy app. Main things were raw fish/eggs, unpasteurised stuff, limit coffee, no smoking/drinking and dont lift heavy. The apps usually have a food guide too which helped me a lot.
I was so confused about this in my first weeks too. I avoided papaya, raw stuff and lifting anything heavy. Did anyone else also just feel scared to eat anything outside? I was paranoid the whole first trimester.
My amma told me to skip papaya and pineapple in the early months and i did just to be safe. But for everything else i followed what my doctor said, she gave me a small list of what to avoid. Best to ask yours too.
