I am tired of getting random food warnings from everyone. Some say no papaya, some say no outside chutney, some say no cold drinks. What foods did your doctor clearly tell you not to eat?
At home they told me avoid raw papaya and not too much pineapple, and skip leftover or stale food. I ate plenty of fresh cooked meals, rice, dal, veggies, curd. Family advice plus a quick doctor confirmation kept me relaxed.
Dont stress and over restrict yaar, you can eat most normal food. Just skip raw/uncooked stuff, raw papaya, too much chai/coffee and dodgy street food. Fresh home khana is your best friend.
General no list, raw/undercooked meat and eggs, unpasteurised cheese and milk, high mercury fish, too much caffeine, alcohol, raw papaya, and unhygienic outside food. But every pregnancy is a bit different so it is worth asking your gynac for your specific do's and dont's.
Elders always told us no kachcha papita and limit pineapple in early months, and we followed it. Avoid raw and street food, eat fresh home cooked. Some say avoid certain seeds too, but for the medical do's and dont's listen to your doctor along with these.
Main things I avoided, raw or undercooked eggs and meat, unpasteurised milk products, papaya (especially raw/semi ripe), pineapple in excess, too much caffeine and any street food that isnt freshly cooked. Wash fruits and veggies well. Otherwise eat normal balanced home food.
Apart from the usual raw/undercooked foods, I had to cut down sweets and sugary drinks a lot because of my gestational diabetes. So food limits also depend on your health condition. Get your doctor to give you a list suited to you.
