What should be the length of cervix during pregnancy?
At my last scan the doc mentioned cervix length and i didnt fully understand the numbers. Im 20 weeks now. Just want to know what is the normal range, thoda confused about this whole thing.
I totally understand how every little measurement in these reports can make us worry. Normally it should be above 3 cm, so try to rest and stay happy, dear.
Cervical length is normally between 30mm to 40mm in the second trimester. Since my pregnancy was high-risk, we tracked it carefully at every scan, so don't hesitate to ask your gynac.
During my 20-week scan, they measured my cervix and I felt so relieved when the doctor said 3.5 cm was perfectly normal. It's a very routine thing they check.
Usually, doctors look for it to be around 3 to 4 cm. My MIL always told me to avoid lifting heavy things to keep everything safe, but definitely confirm with your doctor.
I just delivered last month and remember my doctor saying anything above 30mm is great. If it gets shorter, they just advise extra bed rest, so don't worry.
