What should be the normal cervical length during pregnancy?
My scan report mentioned cervical length and the number kind of worried me. Im 20 weeks and just want to understand what range is considered okay. Will discuss with my doctor too but wanted some idea first.
I had a slightly short cervix so this is something I followed closely. Please dont try to interpret the cm yourself, the doctor decides if it needs any action. Mine was managed well with rest and monitoring, so trust your gynac fully on this one.
My gynac measured it on the scan and said around 3 to 4 cm is generally considered normal in mid pregnancy. If it gets shorter they keep a closer watch. She mentioned it varies, so dont compare your number with others, let the doctor read it.
I saw this on my scan report and got worried too. My doctor said mine was fine and normal range is roughly 3cm plus around this stage. Did anyone else stress over scan numbers? I keep googling and scaring myself.
Normal is usually 3 cm and above in the second trimester from what my doctor told me. If it's shorter they just monitor more carefully, nothing to panic about. Always go by the report your gynac reads, not online ranges.
